5 Hectares – Cucumbers

This glasshouse project is an example of one of the most hi-tech and sustainable greenhouses in Australia. Featuring diffused glass with 2xAR (anti-reflective coating), it gives 96% light transmission through to the crop. The packing shed has a 24-metre clear span, which is the widest created by Apex Greenhouses to date. With a 7-metre powder coated trellis post, the greenhouse grows a mix of Lebanese and continental cucumbers. Heating comes via a 5MW Biomass boiler with wood chip fuel.
